ABOUT OUR GRACE FARM LLC

Welcome ! We are Tonya and Lindsey …

We are native Coloradoans that have always had a soft spot for Iowa. We knew we wanted to live in the country so we chose Iowa  , or maybe Iowa chose us.  I love antiques and have always wanted a barn and an old farm house. We found half of that, a beautiful farm house with a large front porch and I knew we had found our home.   As we sat on the front porch taking in the views we had a lot of dreams and visions for this farm. Lindsey had dreamt of having bees .  I was a little nervous, not  knowing all what it would entail. We bought our first 5 colonies in the spring of 2020 and Lindsey fell in love with bees as did I but he is the beekeeper.  We currently have 31 colonies and are looking to continue to grow that part of our farm. We had a lot of work to do in the fields to get them ready for growing organic produce.  We have always believed and felt strongly that we were not going to use chemicals and we wanted to farm organically. The back fields had a dairy barn and corn crib that were destroyed by a tornado several years ago. So there was a lot of concrete in the ground that took months to clear. We had our soil tested and worked with an Amish man to make up non-synthetic fertilizers for us to use to get the soil up to par. The fertilizer was custom mixed to our soil test.

Where the old granary was we used the pad to build a greenhouse. Lindsey starts all of our plants from seeds in the greenhouse. Along with bees and produce we envisioned a field of flowers. The fall of 2020 we planted 3000 tulip bulbs along with other spring flowers. We are excited for another new addition on the farm, we have a new store that we will be opening the spring of 2025.  Along with more flowers for a U Pick Flower.

Lindsey and I love our farm and the life we have created here.  The communities near us have embraced and supported us. We are very grateful and blessed.
